Quad Screen Splitter: Simultaneously Displays Videos From 4 Different Sources on a Single Screen

A Quad Screen Splitter allows a user to connect four computers or video sources to one single screen. It can be controlled, monitored and viewed at the same time. The source devices can be either VGA or DVI. A space saving solution, this device also reduces expenditure on additional monitors as the outputs can be viewed on a single screen. Of the various display modes associated with this splitter, the quad mode allows the monitor to be split into four equal sized sections that display contents from four different sources. The dual mode allows full screen images from two video sources to be displayed side by side at full size. In the full screen mode, one single video mode can also be viewed with a high resolution whereas in the PiP mode, one of the screens can be switched to full screen and remaining three screens are shown as thumbnails on the right side margin.

The latest versions of the Quad Splitter are available with touch screen support which allows exercising control and switching between the connected sources via touch screen. The basic models, on the other hand use either push buttons on front of the unit, hot key commands or mouse functions for switching channels or selecting the display mode. The advantage of this device is that it enables the user to control any of the four screens while simultaneously monitoring the other three. In order to monitor a larger network of computers, these devices can be cascaded. By doing so, video from up to 16 sources can be viewed on a single screen.

While the basic model is always a desktop version, these devices can also be available with Rack mount kits.

Resolutions supported by this device vary between 1600 x 1200 @ 60 Hz for VGA Quad Splitter and up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz for the DVI model. This device is very useful for different industries and work stations especially for supervisory systems, server farms and process control centers etc.
